Designed Life Inc., operating as Designed Life Marketing (“Designed Life,” “we,” “us”), is a digital marketing agency in Edmonton, Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

We follow Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). When personal information crosses provincial or national borders, we also follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

We use AI tools, such as Claude by Anthropic, to help draft, analyze and organize our work. We share only the information a task needs. We don’t allow these tools to use your information to train their models.

Consent and email

When you fill out a form, email us or call us, you agree that we can use your information to respond. When you use our website, the tools above collect visit data. You can opt out anytime using the choices listed in the cookies section.

We follow Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We send marketing emails only to people who agreed to receive them, or where the law allows it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. We process unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

You can withdraw your consent anytime, unless a contract or the law requires us to keep using the information. If withdrawing affects our work together, we’ll tell you how.

Service providers and storage outside Canada

We use trusted service providers to run our business. Some of them store or process information outside Canada. They may use it only to provide their service to us.

Google user data and our internal tool

Designed Life runs a private internal tool called Jarvis. With the account owner’s permission, it connects to Google services we use or manage, such as Google Calendar and Google Ads. It uses that data to prepare schedules, reports and alerts for our team.

Designed Life’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Client account data

When you hire us, you may give us access to accounts like your website, Google Business Profile, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Search Console, Meta and your CRM. These accounts can hold personal information about your own customers, such as form leads.

You remain responsible for your own privacy policy and for your customers’ consent.

How we protect and keep information

We protect personal information with safeguards that match how sensitive it is. These include multi-factor sign-in on business accounts, access limited to the people who need it, and encrypted connections.

We keep information only as long as we need it:

If a privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we report it to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta. We also notify the people affected, as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

Send your request in writing to our privacy officer. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We respond within 45 days, as Alberta’s PIPA requires. If a request involves a cost, we’ll tell you before we start.

Please contact us first so we can fix the problem. If we can’t resolve it, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta. For matters under federal law, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children and changes to this policy

Our services are for businesses. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy as our services, tools or the law change. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll post a notice on our website.
